Our Rubber Safety Play Surface System is designed to work as a complimentary flooring option for almost all aspects of the leisure and playground industry.

The process is almost identical to the Quartzbound System, where the Polymer Resin is mixed with the material to be “bound”, in this case, small granules of coloured rubber, known as EPDM.

The result, once the two components have been mixed and applied to the surface using the hand trowel method, is a softer, more suitable finish for areas where falls and trips may be possible.

Our Quartzpad surface option is available in a dozen primary colours, with specific blend being available upon request.

Where a greater level of shock absorbency is needed, we can install as an underlay base, a product known as SBR, (Synthetic Base Rubber).

This is a lager grade of granulated rubber, and mainly recycled from the automotive industry. It is screeded beneath the final 15mm top, coloured EPDM layer, and acts as a “buffer” should the area be subject to frequent falls.

The depth of the SBR would depend on the height of the play equipment to be installed and is calculated from the CFH chart.

Typical installation options for our Quartzpad would be Play areas, Pool Surrounds, Splash Pads and anywhere that a vibrantly coloured, softer surface is the order of the day.
